  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I shop at Wal-Mart for groceries. (1. Can't afford the prices at the other two stores...plus 2. apparently they don't think people eat turkey, and don't carry it. ) I sometimes shop at K-Mart for cloths for my family, because they now take Sears charge (the Sears here is exclusively hardware and appliance...weird. So, I don't use it for anything anymore.) Don't shop at Target because their employees are rude. And I don't patronize establishments that don't take a stand about having rude employees.

Can you afford not to shop at discount stores?

Well, all the supermarkets over here have specials of one sort or another every week. We go to one which is open 24 hours a day so we can go later in the evening when it's quieter and it's not so crowded. They have lots of specials every week which helps our budget. :)

Do you buy all your groceries at a supermarket, or do you get meat at the butchers, fruit and vege at the greengrocer and so on?

I'm not rigid in either catagory. But, neither are as effortless as they were 20 years ago, either.

Did you grow up in an area where you could catch polywogs, blow the fuzz off of cattails, make forts, climb trees, use your imagination to create a whole fun world outside?

Well, we grew up in the city but our parents owned a biggish section and there was room for a treehouse and they grew heaps of trees and shrubs, so one could play games very satisfactorily. :D We used to holiday at a beach every long weekend and holiday time as well, so that gave us more scope too. I think our parents gave us the best of both worlds. :)

Would you rather live in the city or the country?
