For the last 200 years, all the evidence of every investigation undertaken by christians and non-christians alike has pointed toward the conclusion that no flood took place, no garden of eden existed, and the whole exodus is bunk.



Such research is happening because some people have money and time to waste and would rather hold on to antique stories of snakes talking and angels smiting than spend time using their brains. We should explain to students that a bunch of half-retarded chimps with a well-funded PR machine are trying to sabotage their biology education. Please, direct me to one "creation science" paper that's been published in a respected joural. Just one!

Just WHAT could they do TWO HUNDRED years ago to prove the Flood happened or not? AND what exactly are uniformitarians doing today to prove the Flood never happened? I feel strongly that you will find the answer to both to be the same------N O T H I N G. Inquiring minds wonder whether Littlenipper is interested in anything other than spewing rhethoric. He claims facts are on his side, but doesn't seem to want to put that to the test. How convenient.

Because they never have before, at least not the Creationists. Most Christians I've met are secure enough to laugh at themselves once in a while.

200 years ago, christian geologists were trying to identify which layers of strata were layed down by a global flood. by careful examination of the strata, they found that none of the layers could possibly have been layed down by a global flood. because they were basing their conclusions on the evidence, (not trying to twist the evidence to fit their predetermined conclusions, like modern creationists do) they were forced to conclude that no global flood ever occurred.

This probably wont make much sense because I don't remember it very well but I was watching a program on discovery about a massive lake of some sort which somehow managed to burst (I think it was because of an earthquake) around the same time as the flood apparently happened, the ammount of water that was released would have covered a vast ammount of area and may have seemed like a global flood but it was actually just a bloody big flood, but not by any means global.

After all the whole "world" would have seemed much smaller at the time of the flood because at that time much of the world wasn't explored yet. People also seem to have a nack for exaggerating things...

Well, the most obvious difference is that Judaeo/Christianity has factual historical roots that run for thousands of years prior to Norwegian Nordic folklore.

On top of everything, is the realization that both Christians and nonchristians have been able to investigate much Biblical data and have found it correct in detail. The items of contention have never been proven to be in error. Flood investigations are ongoing, and concerns of an old Universe are real. No one is doing any scientific research into the truth of the Nordic Creation stories. This is not true of Genesis. There is NOTHING wrong with explaining to students that such research is happening, who is doing it, what they have discovered, who opposes it and why. At the very least it fall under scienticic history----as does a discussion of Darwin.

Yes, it does. The study of evolution places faith on the abilities of man to figure out all problems and reasons given enough effort and time. Christians believe just the opposite. They see GOD as the only solution to everything. Both are accept on faith.
