Could you please show me a textbook on evolution that says that an important assumption is that there is no God? Could you quote from a scientist where he says evolution rests on the assumption of no God?

Given that several people have explained to you that this not so, does your assertion on this matter rest solely on your personal opinion?

While I agree that I don't think I've ever come across a creationist who really understands how evolution works, I have come across those who seem willing to learn and ask and answer questions in a polite manner.
In my opinion that makes it worth the trouble.
There are also lurkers who benefit from discussions.
