  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

"It didn't happen because it's bogus."

don't you mean it's bogus because it didn't happen? :D
He made the world so faithfull and wise would filter through His wrath.
And what exactly does this do to prove your point?

I think you'd do well to click on this site. Don't worry, it's not an evolutionist page.

Yeah I guess I do mean that. Good catch.

And the second thing: You were talking about the bogusness of creation. I was just giving a probable reason for lack of evidence from miracles.

He didnt NP, sorry you are sadly mistaken.

God spoke to me as clearly as He spoke to Adam, Moses, Noah, or even Christ himself. Since you don't question their Divine Revelations, who are you to question mine?

Last Tuesdayism now has as much evidence for it as Biblical Creationism. I therefore demand that it be given equal time in our school system as an "alternative" for evolution.

Want to sign my petition? :p

Thankyou for the definitions. So this has told you to watch out for people like me? And what: are evolutionist' pages porn sites now that I have to worry about running into them? Have I made any wrong statement in the post or have I explained it in a way taboo to your reading style?

I see I'm wasting perfectly good sarcasm here.

So will this be the criteria to teach Creation Science? "We know it happened because of the lack of evidence?"

The case for Last Tuesdayism is getting stronger by the second.

Then what evidence do you have of your claim?

Haven't you been reading? Must I include everything in my posts? I wish I could put emotion into typing, but I will not resort to the gay smilies. I'll get nailed for that last sentence, won't I?

No. Why would we do that? Thats ridiculus. Thats absurd. How profound a blasphemy. Naughty Nathan, naughty.

So considering that creationists want to insist and teach in public schools that a global flood happened a few thousand years ago that's responsible for the earth's geology on a 6,000-10,000 year old planet, creationists say this because it is actually because of the evidence?

You have yet to post anything that anyone would consider 'evidence'.

Yea, those are happy smiles aren't they? Unless you mean homosexual... but it's ok, we already know the church's stance on that (as has been proven by the fact that they will speak out against homosexuality yet do whatever they can to cover up the priests molesting little boys... not only is it homosexual and pedophilia, it's a felony!)

Why do you keep quoting that sentence that was intended to be a comeback at Poe's sarcasm?

And no. Did I say I was anywhere around this insignificant debate? Christianity is personal.

Whoops, sorry about that. I got you confused with someone in another thread, who demanded "proof" of evolution but refused to visit any of the dozens of"evolutionist" websites provided for him. This is what happens when you bounce from thread to thread.

As for "people like you," well, we get a lot of fallacies around here; lots of new people making the same old mistakes. You either learn basic logic and forensic debate quickly or you become a laughingstock.

The point is is that I will not be posting any evidence.

The smilies are... ahem a homosexuals favorite thing about chatting via the keyboard. Want evidence for that one?

I do not affiliate myself with those preists. I do not know why you think I do.

And gosh yall are unified. I wish we were.

God created the entire universe, exactly as it is, at exactly 10:27 AM last Tuesday, complete with bogus geology to make the Earth look 4.6 billion years old, a bogus Bible to make people believe it was 6000 years old, bogus human history to make us think we've lived on this planet for 10,000 years, and bogus memories in all our brains to make us think that we were actually here before 10:27 AM last Tuesday.

Pfft, you are soooo off there Poe. The universe was clearly created last Monday at 12:01 AM (EST), as revealed to me by Iggy the magic elf.

Or didn't you ever wonder why Monday is usually considered the beginning of the week, eh?

YOU FOOL! YOU FOOL! Don't you realize that when Iggy the Magic Elf revealed this to you, He was on vacation in a different part of the world, across the International Date Line? You forgot to compensate for the different time zones!

How many poor misguided souls will fall victim to such heresy and be banished to Iggy's Pit of Eternal Nastiness because of your error!

As an act of penance, you must now recite 36 "Hail Iggy"s

Okay folks. The OP is about the claims of the discovery of Noah's Ark, some 2000 feet above sea level. Let's get back on topic. Address the topic, not the individuals participating in this thread. Leave all your personal judgements of each other at the door. They have no place in respectful and dignified discussion.

@TheBear: Good idea, but since the debate still revolves around the mysterious appearance and disappearance of loads of water, I'll adress this point:

When the flood story was written, the babylonian world model was en vogue - a flat earth, floating on water, with a crystal dome above it. The principles of the cycle of water (evaporation, rain, etc...) were not understood yet, so it is no wonder the bible speaks of reservoirs of water above and below. This of course shouldn't be taken literally, as geology has shown us that the earth's crust does not rest upon water, nor giant caverns of water.

The incredible amounts of water necessary to flood the entire earth up to the levels necessary to cover Mt. Ararat, e.g. have been roughly calculated in this thread - but where have they gone to? They cannot have been removed by evaporation, since the water would have rained down again. They cannot have retreated into the ground, as we would have detected these hypothetical reservoirs a long time ago.

So where does the water hide? Sea levels nowadays are not so drastically different than before the last ice age, as to explain this.

I've heard mentioning of the flood being "proven" by the last ice age - how exactly would you care to elaborate this, and where's the evidence for your claim?

Last but not least - simply saying goddidit and believing in everything that flies in the face of facts means ignoring god's exact scripture: Creation. Why ignore creation, when it is the obvious place to look for concerning questions of how and when? :)
