On the contrary: The water found underground is not readily accessible or mobile enough to explain a sudden massive flood scenario, however, it actually gives us a better understanding early Earth conditions relevant to the evolution of life.

Why people (especially believers) have trouble understanding the flood is they can not even understand God's creation God created and you can thank science for this.
