  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

this is more of a light hearted comment, but what happened to the ducks?

and how did all those hideously complicated ecosystems set themselves up again so quickly? I mean, look at the rainforests, there is some seriously specific stuff happening there. hummingbirds and insects that can only feed from one type of plant and so on.....

Can of worms open you young Jedi.

These are just a few of many questions that lead either to an answer that contradicts a global flood, or suggests divine intervention/magic as a last resort (and an easy cop-out)

Here's a good place to find many of these questions (and find answers also):

Genesis 6:20
"Of the birds after their kind, and of the animals after their kind, of every creeping thing of the ground after its kind, two of every kind shall come to you to keep them alive.

Science has shown with the fruit fly that you can change their diet in a five year period of time. So I would think 3000 years would be enough.

Fruit flies generations are measured in weeks, not years or decades as is the case with many vertebrates (which is exactly why they are used for genetics studies as opposed to say tortoises or elephants).

I am always amused by YECs who invent some kind of hyper-rapid-evolution idea to explain away the questions of what happened after the Flood. THIS from the same people who cannot accept that chimps and humans share a common ancestor.
