• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

You don't seem to care much for being it -- you had to invent a reason to make yourself special.
Not exactly -- I grew up "special".

Just ask anyone who knows me personally.

And for the record, and speaking of inventions to make oneself special -- I don't need to have a lecture on being 1 of 3 million spermatozoa to make it to the finish line to be called "special".

Are you "special"? (Please answer this.)

[Insert your own "short bus" joke here]^_^

That doesn't make you special, just lucky.

Are you "special"? (Please answer this.)

Biologically? Not that I know of -- I'm as as much Homo sapiens as the next guy.

You?

You might want to check around some -- specifically scientific philosophy, which uses that as a selling point.

Why should I care?

Yes, indeed.

Well, that marks an interesting change in attitude from you. You used to deny it until you were blue in the face.

God gave it to Adam to name the various animals, we are not to name ourselves?
Nope -- God handled that:

Genesis 5:2 Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.

Still, the results are interpreted by the observer. IF two observers claim the same interpretation of the result, then it's been "peer reviewed". The majority opinion can easily be swayed. Swaying the majority over to ones viewpoint is the entire goal of science.

That's what I've been saying all along in my thread "Issues in Scienceville" It's a controlled and manipulated field.

oh boo whooo facts and evidence are too limiting for my fragile theology!

On the contrary. They fully support my theology.
Not that Science can have any real support for History.
It's a rinse and repeat process.
If it's not repeatable, it's Hokum science.

But I really appreciate your concern for my spiritual life.
