So lately I have managed to resist debates with people who will never budge. I am much more peaceful.

Good for you, but on the other hand it's our duty to at least have a shot at making them see sense..:)-
"Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels.
And the Lord's servant must not quarrel, instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful.
Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will" (2 Tim 2:23-26)

But if they still won't budge, we shouldn't waste any more time on them..:)-
"The Jews argued with him, so Paul said 'I'm clear of my responsibility' and left" (Acts 18:6-7)
Jesus said:- "If people won't listen to you, shake off the dust from your feet as you leave, as a testimony to them" (Matt 10:14/15)

Mostly I debate other people on this website in order to learn things, myself, rather than to win. I don't have the knowledge available to win most of the debates, as I am not a pastor or a biblical scholar. When I sense myself saying too many dumb things, I just stop and walk away.

Jesus is simple enough to understand..:)
"And the common people heard him gladly" (Mark 12:37)
Many so-called 'bible scholars' know zilch, so remember a fool with a theology college diploma is still just a fool..:)
"When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus" (Acts 4:13)
Paul said- "I may not be a trained speaker but I do have knowledge" (2 Cor 11:6)
"I'm worried lest you be led astray from the simplicity of Christ" (2 Cor 11:3)

While I appreciate the edification, remember that Jesus was speaking in Aramaic in a specific cultural and historical context. He would have been very easy to understand by them.

By contrast, nowadays we are reading the Bible through the lens of translations in an entirely different culture. There is a place for learning how to read the Bible in it original languages and to understand the historical context in which Jesus was speaking, and such desire has been a burden on my heart for some time.

We shouldn't overthink things but instead heed Paul's warning-
Paul said- "I'm worried lest you be led astray from the simplicity of Christ" (2 Cor 11:3)
Likewise, Jesus told the priestly classes-"You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life." (John 5:39/40)
And from the Old T- "The more the words, the less the meaning, and how does that profit anyone?" (Ecc 6:11)
Below is a typical slimline gospel. and if people can't find Jesus in there, not all the reading of the whole bible is going to help them find him..:)
