  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Since I know im saved, there's no rush to die to go be with Jesus. I want to be with Jesus more than anything and I know I will be when I die, so I say there's no need to want to die as early as possible so no rush. I mean I want a family with Reina my finace and I want to help people first. Jesus is first is my life but I know there's no need to rush to be with him since I know I will be one day. But is it bad to say this? Like is me wanting to be with Jesus in Heaven later rather than sooner wrong to say? I just want a family first and help people out and be the hands and feet of the Lord before I go to Jesus.

You've completely missed the point of the Gospel, otherwise you would understand John 14:23. The Good News is that the Kingdom of Heaven is here, right now.

People are so worried about being saved and going to Heaven. They are so frightened of dying. If only they could just stop worrying and appreciate for a moment the life they already have, and the divine presence that is ever with them.

NR90, wanting to live out your life and being with Jesus are not two mutually exclusive things. Allow Christ to live through your life, and you can have both.

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7

Rushing means anxiety and even He said not to be anxious about your life.

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life
Matthew 6:25

You shouldn't say it outloud, if it's in an arrogant manner, as if you're better than someone who is weaker of faith.

"My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Matthew 14:1

The OP never said he wasn't with Jesus (and even declared he was saved) and Jesus even said that he would return so that we may also be where He IS....as in..."with Jesus," as the OP put it.

You shouldn't provoke anyone to doubt their salvation, for you may be provoking someone weaker of faith...and you shouldn't want that on your hands.

Still, NR90, believers don't need anyone to teach you:

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit--just as it has taught you, remain in him.
1 John 2:27

Believe and God will reveal the answer to you.

i feel the same way as you -- i kno i'm saved and will be in heaven one day but, i don't want to die yet -- i want to live my life -- I don't know if it's wrong to say that as you asked, but, i've felt like this for awhile.

I would like to go on some other missions trips and help people out and i'd "Like" to get married one day and hopefully have kids too and just enjoy life. I honestly don't see anything wrong w/ saying what you did -- what's wrong w/ wanting to enjoy life and just Live?!? Especially if you want to live for God like you said -- i think that's what God wants. He created life for us to enjoy so, live your life to the fullest everyday and enjoy everything he's given to you.

I'd say to any Christian that if you're saved and still alive, it's a pretty good indication that your work here isn't done yet! :)

Jesus told us that he came so that we can have life and have it in abundance- which seems a very good advocate for enjoying the life we've been blessed with.

My health has been kind of odd over the last couple of years. This year alone I've faced some challenging times.

I've undergone many tests and am still currently under different Consultants both at my local hospital and at a major renowned hospital in London.

There was a real fear that I may have leukemia at one point and in January I had a bone marrow biopsy.

A couple of weeks ago I collapsed and as a result last week I had a brain scan.

I could go on but the fine details aren't relevant.

The point I'm making is that when faced with the possibility of cancer, and with something wrong with my brain- my prayers weren't 'Whoopee, I can come and be with you now Lord.'
They were for, among other things, healing- for things to be ok. For problems to be caught and identified so that I could receive treatment.

My first big prayer was to go on living!

Now if someone told me that I showed a lack of faith- I would be very offended. Of course I'm looking forward to heaven. Of course I have assurance about my salvation. My faith has never been stronger- and I thank God that I've been through- and am going through- these things because it's brought me face to face with my earthly mortality and I've found that my faith really is bigger than my fear.

But I do not want to die yet!

And I absolutely know that there is nothing whatsoever wrong with that.

Dear NR90. You are on the right way, and you are young: No need to rush. You say you want to help people, and that is something, God wants us to do. In Matthew, chapter 22, verses 35-40, Jesus tells a Lawyer: " The first and great Commandment is: Love thy God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: Love thy neighbour as thyself." Then Jesus states a very important fact: " On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." We now know, God wants our love, freely given and no conditions asked. You wish to help people, and God wants us to love them as we love ourselves. Start by treating everyone you know and everyone you meet, as you would love to be treated: kindly and considerately, a helping hand (if needed) and encouraging words, instead of angry, or even selfrighteous and insulting replies. God will see our sincere efforts, and will approve, and bless us. To show our love to God is best done by: following His Commandments to love and care. God made us all in His image, and God wants us all back with Him for eternity. We have been given years to get better and better, we have Jesus who will give us His Love and Joy to share with all around us, and we have the Holy Spirit who will give us His Love, too. We might often stumble and fall, but we get up and ask God`s Forgiveness, and God will forgive us as we will forgive those who transgress against us. Jesus died for all, and Jesus is our Saviour, and Jesus died that we might live, He reconciled us to God. Let us Repent, change our selfish and unloving character FOR: Loving God with all our beings, and loving our neighbour as ourselves. I say this with love, NR90. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
