So God left it to evolve into a sinful creature? How the heck could one cell have chosen between right and wrong? When did we reach that state?

One cannot evolve into a sinful creature, since sin is a matter of choice and evolution is not. But a species capable of conscious choice can (and did) evolve.

Also, so is the fact that s many fossiles would've had to have been covered with layers of mud/dirt/water/whatever in a very short amount of time for them to have turned into fossiles!

What is the point of this statement? Yes, quick burial is often a pre-requisite of fossilization. But since one quick burial can take place a million or a hundred million years before another, why raise the issue? Even after burial, fossilization is still a slow process.

Evolution is actually mathematically impossible. Not just extremely low chance. The fact is, life is so complex, it proves the need for something to have created us, and only God is so powerful, as only he can give life.

I don't know why I missed this yesterday. Mathematically, as far as I know, the only way to compute a completely zero probability is when computing the possibility of two or more mutually exclusive events happening together [ P(AnA') ], so which two or more mutually exclusive events do they say have to happen for evolution to be completely impossible?

AND, if you read on in that passage, as I did, its actually talking about end of time scoffers :p Its saying that they'll say why hasn't he come but the bible is saying that the time period is actually so small... >.O thats a totally different context.

Nope, as I read the passage what comes across to me is that Peter is speaking against the classical Greek view that the universe is unbounded in time. Peter finds that some people say "The universe had no beginning and everything goes on as it has". But he replies, "No, the universe had a beginning when God created it, and it's going to end in a bang too!" And TEs agree that the universe had a beginning when God created it.

Evolution is not a moral process, nor is it about "improving" anything. It is merely about survival of life and change from one thing to another. A tiger is not an "improvement" on an amoeba; it's merely more complicated.

Neither does abiogenesis. It asserts that life began from naturally occuring chemical processes that can be understood (though we don't have enough information yet about the early earth to know which of the many possible processes it was that produced life.)

And it makes no comment about whether that process was controlled through divine agency. No scientific analysis can make metaphysical statements about ultimate causes, only about proximate causes.

Artychoke,

I must say you are sounding a lot more mature these days. I can only assume this resulted fromyour recent time warp adventure in which your age apparently jumped from late teens to mid forties. I estimate that you must have had 2 birthdays per day over the past couple of weeks and can appreciate that this in itself would rapidly accelerate the aging process. My condolences that one so young should advance in years so quickly without opportunuity to apprecite some of the finer things in life. It is not something I'd wish on anyone, yes even one who takes on the TE label.

Shernren,

Apologies if you find my humour offensive. You may have missed the point of the post so I will state it clearly. Artybloke's age as I recall used to register in the mid to late teens. In recent times it has made a sudden leap to the ripe old age of 47. I thought that warranted at least an attempt at humour.

It all goes to show that we should be wary of the ages people display on their posts. Wouldn't you agree?

Dear Mickytake, it's all part of the evolutionary process, don'cha'know ('cept of course individuals don't evolve.)
