"But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." I Corinthians 13:13 NAS.
When I think of love, I think of what Jesus said in John 15: 13: " Greater love hath any man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." In the very next verse Jesus called us His friends.
Then Jesus put action to His Words. He did in fact, lay down His life for us. In verse 12 of the same chapter Jesus said: "This is My commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."
How can we keep this commandment, if we cannot even keep our pledge to simply love and and be there for one another forever. Our forever often lasts only a few days!
We, as human beings, sin against God and one another. When that happens, we become angry, and our "Eternal Love" suddenly dies and sinks to the depths of the ocean.
We then have to question our "love". Because if our love dies, It was never love according to God's written Word in I Corinthians 13:8. "Love never ends". CSV
And so let us follow the example of our Lord and love, not only in word, but in deed as well. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. I John 3:18
How can we show our love in deed in this forum? One way we can show our love in deed is the way we respond to others. Our writing is in fact a deed. Our words express what is in our heart, and if Jesus is in our hearts and we are filled with His love, our deeds will show it.
May God, not only fill our hearts with love, and bless us, but may He use us always as a channel of his love to bless others.
