• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

No final destination

"Welcome on board. After taking-off, we'll be serving you a meal and we'll do all we can to make your flight enjoyable. However, I need to tell you-we have no final destination. So we are just going to keep on flying until we run out of gas and drop into the ocean."

No matter how wonderful the journey is, what's the point if there's no destination? And yet many people live there lives like this. they concentrate only on having the best 'journey' that they can, on travelling first class all the way. But they never stop to consider where the journey is taking them-what is at the journeys end.

Death is the end of our journey here on earth, but it need not be the end of YOUR journey. God does not want you to end your life in death. He wants it to be the start of an etenity of peace and love in His presence. Jesus has a ticket for you right now to go on that journey when your time here on earth ends. It's a free ticket, but there is just one condition-You have to ask Jesus for this ticket yourself, it's a ticket to heaven and it's free.

Here is some good news and some bad news. There really is a heaven, and it doesn't matter how good you may think you are, how much money you have, or how many times you've been to church. Without Jesus, you can forget it all. He is the only way to go on this journey and reach yout destination safely.

So if you haven't already, ask him for that ticket.

Cheers, Paul.

Great observations! and I like the parable nature of the story, it works well.

Now, as for the truth of the matter, you've nailed it. I think even those who know there is a final destination but compromise themselves by giving into the current carnalities are perhaps the saddest cases of all. and as for those who don't know there is a finality to it all, let's get busy - we've got to tell them!

Thanks again, Paul, your posts are always worthwhile and full of Godly love.
