I think this has to do with documents leaked only. I think he is still on the hook for FISA.

Confidential notes when he suspects corroborating sources for Trumps' version sounds pretty reasonable. Trump reveals classified information to the Russian Ambassador and no one cared. Comey and Clinton have nothing to to with politics , I don't understand the obsession with them.

Trump had the authorization to do what he did in that instance. It violated no law. Comey, the FBI director, however, was not covered in the same way.

Trump demands loyalty in a private meeting and lies about what was said. What Comey did was against FBI policy, not against the law.

We're just going in circles about this for some unknown reason.

Apparently neither of them broke any law, but the thread is supposed to be about Comey, not just the umpteenth opportunity to turn to Trump-bashing.

Comey is cut and dried, the release is clearlly not against the law. With Trump the issue is obstruction and this Congress, especially the Senate, does nothing.

Obstruction requires a substantial step, which is a matter of fact that should be determined by a judge or jury. Mueller and the DOJ do not have that authority to determine that with regards to a sitting President. I do think the matter will be revisited once he leaves office but probably not before.

I can see these discussions going in circles because the standard of law is being abandoned in our society. What is infinitely more inportant and utterly ignored is the world changed, people wanted the US to change and our government refused.

Trump is not my biggest issue, he is more like comedy relief. Im watching the Senate and the Federal courts with great apprehension.

When did he claim that the information in the Steel dossier was verified? The only unclassified affidavit I'm aware of verifies that Steel gave them certain information and that they consider him to be a reliable source. Nothing ever says that they confirmed the individual details of what was in his report.
