Nilvarandra III is the son of Nilvarandra II, a beggar boy raised up by Aden in a time of crisis. Aden had to promise that the boy would never go hungry, and so he chose the ability to summon food as the new Oyarsa's unique ability. Aden and Nilvarandra then defeated the demon invasion, and Aden left to wander the universe once more.
4,000 years later Aden died of old age, and Nilvarandra II followed in another 3,000 years. Nilvarandra III took his father's place at the age of 900, still a child in body but knowledgeable enough to take care of a world. Nilvarandra II learned rune magic and self-replicating runes from Aden, and passed them on to his son. Land shaping is an ability universal to Oyarsu.
