CV NEWS FEED // A Catholic priest in Kaduna State, Nigeria, was murdered on Ash Wednesday by his captors just hours after being kidnapped from his residence.
Father Sylvester Okechukwu, 44, who served at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tachira, Kaura Local Government Area, was abducted on the night of March 4. The Diocese of Kafanchan confirmed his murder early March 5.
“This untimely and brutal loss has left us heartbroken and devastated,” Father Jacob Shanet, chancellor of the Kafanchan diocese, said in a statement.
