  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I could see Anaheim doing some damage. They've been just a tad below Chicago and LA in the playoffs the past few years. Plus, they've really been doing well during the second half of the season.

But I still think the Kings are the scariest, as this is their best regular season in a while, and they are built to win playoff series.

Stars fan here. Should be a good game tonight!

I'm just hoping we win one game. We're decimated with injuries and it's been a weird season. I'm kind of ready for it to be over, haha. You guys have a great squad.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Wild win tonight. That place will be jumpin', if the stories about how much the Wild fans hate the Stars are true.

It will be interesting. I have tickets to it. I think it will be tense in the building. Fans are very frustrated because we had higher expectations and the team has underachieved. People are a bit fed up. The Stars hatred is over exaggerated in my opinion. The North Stars have been gone for 23 years now. There may be some people who never got passed the grieving process or just want to hate for the sake of hating. If the Wild get back into the series, maybe that hatred will spark up, which would be good. I love a fun rivalry.

EDIT: Norm Green is not well liked at all in this state. I think he even told a Dallas radio station he won't be attending the games here for that reason

Dallas will probably win the series, but I think they lose tonight. Seguin and Russell aren't playing, and Minnesota will be playing at home. If I were a Minnesota fan, I'd just be happy that they made the playoffs with 87 points. I'm not sure what's wrong with them right now, but something needs to be fixed.

I still can't believe that the North Stars ever moved from Minnesota. They are one of the best American markets when it comes to hockey. Never thought about there being a rivalry between Dallas and Minnesota. You're right Jon, it would be fun if Minnesota could make it a series so they can ramp up the hatred. Nothing is more amusing than a good ol' playoff bloodbath.

There were a lot of locker room issues. That is what was reported all year anyway. A younger player, veteran player divide. No matter the outcome, they have to reevaluate what they have. They over hyped the young players and they've been below expectations.

I still can't believe that the North Stars ever moved from Minnesota. They are one of the best American markets when it comes to hockey.

The story is that owner Norm Green was cheating on his wife and she forced him to move the team or she'd leave him. I'm not sure how much truth there is to that. Some people are still bitter. I was too young to remember much of that drama.

You're right Jon, it would be fun if Minnesota could make it a series so they can ramp up the hatred. Nothing is more amusing than a good ol' playoff bloodbath.

The Tampa vs Detroit series has quite a bit of hatred going on right now. Best part about the playoffs is the hatred can get so brutal but when it's over you shake hands and move on.

Well, it started out well for Dallas . . . . haha!

The Wild really ramped it up, and the Stars didn't play well on either side of the puck. Series on! I'm hoping the Stars take the next 2 and get a series win at home. It's been a long time we had a good playoff run.

No one likes having a team taken away from you - no matter the reasons. But the move made an immediate hockey fan out of this native Texan!
