CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm over in Bristol (south of Plymouth, northwest of Laconia)...it's nice to see New Hampshirites online who aren't exclusively from the southern part of the state.

Just a humble servant
Well...my Dad grew up in Centre Tuftonboro. He went to Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro when the Academy was also the high school for all of the local kids. I've been there maybe 8 or 9 times on vacation. My aunt and uncle used to have a cabin by Ossippee Lake, and my uncle used to grow blueberrys on a mountain. We used to go and pick them. We'd eat a pint right there for every quart we brought home! That mountain had a great view of Lake Winnepesaukee (sp?).
The house my Dad grew up in was built in 1813 or so, and they had a TV before they had indoor plumbing!!

My mom grew up in Alton, (where I am now and she still lives). She also went to Brewster because it was the only school available to her to attend. Her family made up the majority of the school for awhile beacuse there were few kids and five of them were from her family.
