Hi,
Marriage is not hard on the first year based on our experience. It's a learrning process just like learning how to cook. If you have a positive attitude and a good oulook, your willingness to learn will make things simple yet exciting. Your love for one another will overcome any difficulities.

First off, congratulations! We were out of the honeymoon stage VERY quickly because I was having some issues with anxiety and PTSD which lead to my being admitted to the hospital a couple of times. But even for all that and much more that my husband and I have gone through this first year (we have been married 8.5 months), we were just talking last night about how EASY this year has been, simply because we had each other to get us through.

In some ways it's been really rough for my husband and me. We are both older and have been on our own for 15+ years each, so we are pretty set in our ways. So far, the most difficult things for us is remembering to give up some old habits/ways of doing things and to compromise. Also, getting used to another person in bed has been a challenge for me (I don't sleep well anymore).

Our first year (we're still in it) has so far been wonderful--we've had hard times, been dirt-poor the whole time and struggled through several differences & physical problems, but we're in love--and that makes all the difference :) :)

It's hard and easy if that makes sense. I'm still in my first year. It's easy in the sense that you're still in that newlywed bliss but you also have to learn to live with one another and how to respond to one another.

Depends. How's that for an answer. I heard the first year is great because you're still in that honeymoon state. But there are a plethora of issues that can come up.

And congradulations.

we are coming up on our 10th wedding anniversery...I still feel like we are in the newleywed stage...

the first year was not so hard for us since we were engaged for five (5) years and that gave us ample time to get to know each other quite well... of course, there is the adjustment period on the minor things such as where to put your stuff on the bathroom, etc. otherwise, the first year was great!
