  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I absolutely agree. This is my second Newfie...Yogi...my first had severe hip-dysplasia. I didn't buy from a reputable dealer. I bought Yogi out of the newspaper. Naturally, he was my baby and $3000 later (I paid $1500 for him) and going through the heartache of seeing this poor guy go through surgery...tough. The coolest thing was to eventually see him romp and roam. Newfies love the water, slobber and generally make your house a mud-pit, but I love them anyway. Newfies are expensive, but well worth every penny. Sienna my little girl I hope will become a therapy dog...Newfies usually have the sweetest disposition. Sienna at the moment is almost 5 months and going through the rambunctious stage. She cracks me up...but I have to be careful because in about 5-7 months she will outweigh me and she needs to know that Mama is the boss!

By the way, Pouch Cove Newfies are awesome. The Westminster winner was a Pouch Cove - Peggy Helming does a fabulous job!

They really are sweet...I work at a dog day care, and we had one come in for a bath one time. The other dogs had never seem one of their own that was so big, and they didn't know what to make of him! He kept right on trying to make friends, though!

 I've wanted a newfie for three years. My ex-husband wouldn't let me have one. I'm now on my own. I thought I would be getting one on July 7, 2004. I was ready to sign the contract when my dentist gave me bad news. The money I had for the newfie is going to pay the bills.

Please pray for me. I'm going to put down my 15 year old beagle the first week of August. She has been through everything with me. She has had a good life and her kidneys are now failing. I thought I would have the newfie to distract me. My boyfriend is a fireman and is going a lot. I will have a lot of time by my self.

I'm still looking around for a breeder. I live in Maryland, USA. I've been looking at the Pouch Cove they are charging? I'm sure it's a lot but it sounds like they are healthy dogs and that’s what counts.

Newfies. Do you know how much

My boyfriend put down his black lab in May. I miss having a big dog (I also had two in my life time). I'm sure the newfie would be the companion I'm
