  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Should I give you a nice reply or the kind of reply I would give one of my co-workers? :D I'll just give you a little advice.

Try to be more conscious of your compositions. Take notice of everything in the frame, and try to compose your shots in a way that will draw the viewers attention to the whatever the subject is. BUT, don't always center the subject. You want the viewer's eyes to linger, but not too far.

I thought the Africa pictures were very nice. Thank you for sharing your work with us.

I do like your pictures. I'm not a huge fan of the concert pictures. They're really well done from a fan's perspective, but obviously you didn't have a whole lot of options in your shots so I won't bother critiquing them (they're quite well done compared to others I've seen).

In the Africa pictures, you do need to watch your horizon. You composed some good landscapes, but they ended up tilted.

For the sunset and the picture of the multiple people (or huts... I couldn't quite tell) you could have used a slightly longer exposure time (or a lower f-stop). The sillouettes in the sunset aren't quite complete enough -- I find myself really straining to figure out what's in the shadow and a bit more light from sky wouldn't have ruined the picture. Same with the people, you can see the foreground quite well, but the interesting bit -- in the shadow is too dark.

Finally, I adore the little child with the crutch, but I feel the picture could have been a little stronger if he was slightly off-center. Totally centered pictures rarely turn out strongly (artistically at least) and it might have also been much more powerful to include parts of the background by squatting down to take the picture from his level. You'll find that your pictures of children will often turn out much stronger if you take them from eye level (for the kid) or lower.

Hope that helps!
