  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everyone,

I recently posted in the Apologetics section but I think that post belonged here. You'll be seeing me here more often as I realized it is where I need to be. I am a new Christian and I am just now learning the differences between YEC and TE, and I am definitely a TE.

A friend introduced me to Christianity, and I approached it with an open mind. I had always thought it didn't make good sense, then I read books by men like Hugh Ross, Norman Geisler, Michael Behe, Gary Schwartz, Lee Stroebel and other apologetic books whose authors I do not remember. It was the incredible logic and evidence I learned from these books that gave me the faith and the confidence to become a Christian. I am a liberal Christian with a skeptical streak, but a Christian all the same, I think. I always seem to have questions to explore, and I think I'm in the right place :)
