New world order

Hey Coastie,

If the UN is someday successful at it's ultimate goal of free trade and world peace, many countries may follow suit and allow the UN the governing rights.

Well, I'm just having a hard time imagining a governing body "giving" their power to someone else. Again, it's like the idea of Democratics handing over their power to Republicans. The only way that I think it could happen is due to coercion or blackmail on a world-wide level (but such a scenaria seems absolutely cartoonish).

On a more broad and moderate scale... how would you feel about a "World Union" with a single leader or even a board of leaders with one chairman?

It would depend on the level of power granted to the single leader. But that leader's power could not supercede that of the nationistic leadership throughout the world. Why would the president of France "elect" a Union leader that would give the man power over the president of France? I'm just having a hard time seeing the practicality of New World Order scenerios. They seem fine on paper, but when actually implimented...

If the leader had the ability to unify and allow France to prosper, I don't see why the French Pres wouldn't.

I am not suggesting that nations will no longer exist nor am I suggesting that full power will be granted to this world leader. I don't believe that a tight world-wide government will ever exist, but a Union of sorts, with a "Chairman" or leader at the head is not that far off course.

I agree that some nations may not want to give up even a small bit of their sovereignty, they would be pressured greatly by the rest of the unions through trade agreements and such. Furthermore, this couldn't just happen over the course of five years or a decade, this would take many many years of political evolution.

All democratic societies would evolve into dictatorships without the proper checks and balances.

I'm going in circles here, but what I'm saying is that, a world government (stringent or otherwise) should not be completely brushed away as an impossibility. We have the platform for the government to be built on. It may take twenty or it may take 200 years.

I'm going to use the US for an example. Originally, the States were their own self-governing entities. Slowly over the years they almost completely submitted to a greater government because it was the will of the people to do so in order to form a stronger more successful Union.

What if the war of Ezekiel 38 & 39 would happen soon, and the 3 kingdoms in Daniel are subdued. Would not this set the world up for all nations to surrender to a global government. I believe the 3 kingdoms are North America, The Middle-East, and Russia. If these 3 are the 3 kingdoms subdued by the war of Ezekiel, Wouldn't what is left of the world be prime for a world government, and the rise of the anti-christ. Will war be the TOOL to bring about world government. Any other thoughts. Peace, but not yet.

Notice the scriptures above tell of a promised Kingdom. For unto us a child is born(present), unto us a son is given(present); and the government (will be) upon his shoulder(future). The Preterists say that when Titus and his Roman armies surrounded and destroyed Jerusalem, that was the fulfillment of the end times, but that is incorrect, and these preterist views should be removed from this forum. We need to get rid of these views once and for all, and start getting back all the active members that this forum has lost, it is almost dead. There is very little life left in it.

G'day coastie thankyou for your PM, sorry for posting the Scripture, hope you weren't offended. As a former Amillennialist (futurist) Christ's reign definately was established in His first coming and has continued since and will continue into the future, hence the relevance (so I thought).

Is it right fair or balanced to be hounded by the likes of above just because someone's futurism might be different from theirs?? I ask for consistancy and understanding of more than a narrow minded end-times few, so as to include others.

Just one look at Ezekiel 39 and you'll see that America is nowhere to be found. It is God, and God alone that saves Israel against Russia and the terrorist nations. All America can do is question the attack at best.
