I tried out their pre-release Creature Creator for a couple hours a few weeks ago. Was fun. I want the game, which would be a first, as I've never liked a computer game enough to actually spend money on it.
Although I wish it were a little less cutesy. I'd like it much better if the components were more like real bones, body structures, hides, etc. One could still exaggerate proportions and combine odd body parts and create interesting chimaera and impossible critters.
I loathe cutesy. Except for Lolcats. Lolcats got me.

Looks like an updated version of Sim Life. All I ever got in that were things that died though. What can I say. I was 12.

It's somewhat closer to Intelligent Design in a lot of cases, since the player "intelligently designs" the creatures.
Nevertheless it looks cool. It's been "about to be released" for several years.
The "revolutionize gaming" was Will Wright's usual hype. It's more that you create and share creatures across the internet, so practically the entire game world is created by other players and every game will "be unique" as you'll have different creatures pitted against you each time you play.
I had intended on buying this immediately, but there's some heavy Digital Rights Management been placed on it that penalises people buying the game (meanwhile, as always, the pirates get off with no problem with a cracked version of the game).

I don't know about 'revolutionize gaming', but the very fact they managed to catch my eye means they've perhaps attracted an entire demographic whose purses they've not tapped before.
