I recently joined the choir at church. I am pretty excited about this. They chose such lovely songs/hymns and the choir itself sounds so great every morning. I have wanted to join for months but talked myself out of it until this week!!
I sang today for the first time. The great thing is, it is like me being in the choir is almost like a testimony as I was very broken- hearted not that long ago but God has done some real healing work in me. Anyway, even as I was at practice this morning there were these thoughts in my head "your singing isn't good this morning. You're going to sound bad." That type of thing. I know full well it wasn't God. I sang anyway and did my best but those thoughts are still troublesome. Despite that, I am still excited about being in the choir. Maybe some of the joy is coming from the fact that I obeyed God's leading - even if I did take a little while to! Have any of you been able to silence the negative thoughts from the evil one?
