Nuclear war, biological weapons, biological engineering, cloning, technology- all clawed the earth, the angry weapons of the self-destructive human race which sought to destroy itself. Though the nature of man is self-destruction, it is also an indomitable will to live. Hence, after the clouds of war had dissipated, though the earth was scorched, and all that remained between long stretches of barren, smoldering wasteland were the few metropolises that survived, mankind thrived again. Now, city-states rose and soon joined together to form new countries. Seeking to rid themselves of their self-destructive nature, mankind submitted their minds and some debated their very souls to an oligarchy, to a few men and women, for total control. Under this rule, war ended- permanently; crime ended- permanently...well at least for the controlled.
Seeing the injustice of this rule, the weakness of the new humanity, and the corruption of this post-war Utopia, many began to fall away from the ruled body.
