I am experimenting newly with classical music and wondered if anyone had some suggestions. Right now I'm digging into Beethoven, mostly all his symphonies. Probably checking out Mozart and Bach next. I seem to have a thing for Piano Sonatas too, so I've been told to check out Chopin there too by someone. Anyone else have suggestions for me?

Pouf...it's a very wide category. If we're going for piano yes I'd try chopin, Beethoven moonlight sonata is nice, Bach's preludes and fugues for something a bit more heavy-going (though not technically 'classical')...
I'm not much of a piano person myself, but in terms of general classical music/romantic era, I'm quite a big fan of Mendelssohn - check out some of his symphonies etc, Hebrides Overture (fingals cave) is a piece synonymous with Mendelssohn and very evocative of the sea. Schubert, Schumann... I could go on. If you like violin music the Mendelssohn, Bruch, Tchaikovsky, and Sibelius concerti are all lovely...as well as the Beethoven... In terms of Baroque composers Vivaldi is a must, as well as Corelli, Telemann.... I could go on and on. It really depends on what you are looking for!

Blessings and enjoy your foray into classical music. :)

How about Pines of Rome by Ottorino Resphigi?

Shastikovich (not sure if I spelled that right) is awesome. Our college orchestra is playing his 5th Symphony here in about a week. Also check out:
Brahms Symphony 3
Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet Suite (Tchaikovsky wrote one also)
Tchaikovsky Symphony 5, "Waltz" from Sleeping Beauty
Ravel "Pavane pour une enfante defunte"
The Bach Brandenburg Concertos are also very nice
Berlioz "Symphonie Fantastique" (if you can ignore the plotline and symbolism behind it)
Arvo Part, Cantus for the Death of Benjamin Britten :)
