This is a Christian web site. What I am speaking of fits perfectly in this forum and this topics lead:

You guys can dish it out but can’t take it at all. You guys want to shut me up for speaking the Gospel to the un-saved and my questioning of these games in light of scriptures.

Its more like getting an annoying parrot to stop repeating the same thing over and over. Your arguments are more or less worthless.

I’m not ashamed of the gospel and I will need to be banned from these forums to shut me up about it (been banned in non-Christian forums before).

Good for you, maybe you can find something better to crusade against other than pixels and computer code

When I feel moved to the words I shall say them, I am well known for this.

Still yet I’ve only questioned these games but I’m seeing now how wrong they are just by the actions here by non-Christians and some Christians alike.

Oh ya, your just so superior to us, able to resist the satanic temptations of Halo and GTA3. Do you feel guilty when stepping on an ant? Why should I feel guilty for blowing away bits of colored pixels?

This is the fruit of these games. My position is changing now for the better. Time to dump some junk in the trash can.

Exactly what I was thinking *takes Durelens post and tosses it in a trash can

Lets calm down guys. Bickering about this stuff is pointless. We all share different interpretations of scripture and life in general.

Judge something by it's fruits. If playing a videogame relieves stress, brings you closer to your friends, and you play in moderation there's no big deal.

HAHAHAHAHAHA he must be kicking himself now. Here he is saying how evil violent videogames are, including ones with magic and stuff, yet here he is with a comp full of bloody, violent FPS games, and games like Everquest which are full of magic.

Hmm, when I start thinking of video game violence I think of what things will be like in twenty years or so. What am I going to tell my kids? If I play Mafia or GTA how am I going to explain to my kids that they can't play similar games in VR? Things will eventually get so realistic that there wont be much diference betwean a game and real life. So far games are so realistic, *click* *click* Your dead! But it wont stay that way. When VR comes out and it actually seems like your holding a real gun and the people you fight act just like real people when shot, etch, etch. What are you going to tell your kids?

Though take note that I have nothing against games where you fight things other than people. I could realy care less if I'm blowing a robot or some odd dension of a fantasy world. It's the killing of people that conserns me, it cheapens life. Though I'm against any senseless violence no mater what it's directed at. So for Battlefield 1942 I'll change all the character models to something other than people...

As for sex in games... I'm not opposed to it necisarily, just like violence. I think it can be used "artisticly" to make a point just like in movies. But I don't think there are many games that use it "artisticly" but instead are just some stupid kinky thing. But as for your character having sexlike in GTA3 or Fallout what is the diference between the thinking of lustfully of a woman thus comiting addultery and willingly letting your character sleep around? (or gain health :D) It all depends, in my oppinion, on how it is used. Just like for a movie, it's an art form so why treat it any difent than any other? Though if you look at it that way most games would be low art, but anyway...

When?

VR IS out! I've played Unreal Tournament using a VR Headset. It's just too expensive for mainstream at the moment. :(

It's a break free of real life, I play games to relieve stress and breaking free of endless workloads. I think as long as it would harm anyone, such as affected my emotions and mind, in really wanting to shoot down someone, or turn into an addictive activity, it should be okay.

So with that in mind we can only conclude that porn is also fine, so long as I dont actualy commit adultary?

After all... watching people get shot down dead.... watching people have sex.... the diference being?

(stiring things up for a perpose there but all we talk about is violence.)

Forgive me but I am purposly going to stir you up for the sole reason of provoking thought, prayer and insite......

But if it is ok to see and play games that depict the act of killing people (which is wrong according to the bible... the act that is)....

...is it ok to play games that depict the act of people having sex outside of marridge?

Same question could be asked of videos.....

Oh I love being awkward!

I dont know if it is wrong to kill somebody...

As far as I know, the commandment thou shalt not kill, actually refers to thou shalt not murder... killing itself did happen all the time, even the Lord commanded the people to kill, solomon writes there is a time to kill and a time to heal, so the act of killing shouldnt be that much of a problem... games are games...

as far as the sex outside marriage is concerned, well I dont know, games are games, welll...

recently there is more and more games that involve homosexual activity, I didnt have a problem with Nico Belic helping out his gay comrade but when I heard about Skyrim having gay marriage, well, I am not sure whether I am gonna buy and play it... didnt buy Dragon Age, Mass Effect3 is gonna have it too...

what is your take on that?

You just showcased your complete and utter ignorance, I'd say research the full consequences of homosexuality, and research all the cultures of those so called innocent people in the OT, people that were murdering their own children for the sake of sacrificing to their so called gods are far from innocent. Then start talking, instead of being ignorant and just assuming things.

the full consquince of homosexulity is you want to have sex wiht the same gender

the killing of the 1st born of egypt was on god if its so powerfull he could have saved his peole wiht out slatering childrin himslef or tormenting random pepole just to perswade ther king

"If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)

A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)

They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

But if this charge is true (that she wasn't a virgin on her wedding night), and evidence of the girls virginity is not found, they shall bring the girl to the entrance of her fathers house and there her townsman shall stone her to death, because she committed a crime against Israel by her unchasteness in her father's house. Thus shall you purge the evil from your midst. (Deuteronomy 22:20-21 NAB)

One day a man who had an Israelite mother and an Egyptian father got into a fight with one of the Israelite men. During the fight, this son of an Israelite woman blasphemed the LORD's name. So the man was brought to Moses for judgment. His mother's name was Shelomith. She was the daughter of Dibri of the tribe of Dan. They put the man in custody until the LORD's will in the matter should become clear. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Take the blasphemer outside the camp, and tell all those who heard him to lay their hands on his head. Then let the entire community stone him to death. Say to the people of Israel: Those who blaspheme God will suffer the consequences of their guilt and be punished. Anyone who blasphemes the LORD's name must be stoned to death by the whole community of Israel. Any Israelite or foreigner among you who blasphemes the LORD's name will surely die. (Leviticus 24:10-16 NLT)

Meanwhile, the LORD instructed one of the group of prophets to say to another man, "Strike me!" But the man refused to strike the prophet. Then the prophet told him, "Because you have not obeyed the voice of the LORD, a lion will kill you as soon as you leave me." And sure enough, when he had gone, a lion attacked and killed him. (1 Kings 20:35-36 NLT)

“I have seen these people,” the LORD said to Moses, “and they are a stiff-necked people. 10 Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.”

27 Then he said to them, “This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: ‘Each man strap a sword to his side. Go back and forth through the camp from one end to the other, each killing his brother and friend and neighbor.’” 28 The Levites did as Moses commanded, and that day about three thousand of the people died. 29 Then Moses said, “You have been set apart to the LORD today, for you were against your own sons and brothers, and he has blessed you this day.”

look i can see why god would be angry he did the peoel a favor then they went and worshipd soem one else it was rude

but killing peole just becase your angry at them is wrong if you dont wnat peoel wiht power kiling you when they dont like what you do
