I'm returning to the Christian faith after many years away. I converted to Catholicism in college, then left a few months in after a run-in with a psycho Priest. Besides, things started getting really weird under Pope JP2. Disillusioned altogether, I didn't step foot inside a Christian Church for 27 years!
I'm joining a local ELCA church after spending the last few years in deep soul-searching for the right place to be. I've attended many Lutheran, Quaker, Mennonite and Episcopal services and, yes, I even tried returning to the Catholic Church. However, not being a "cradle Catholic", putting up with everything in the RC Church without having a childhood grounded in it is very difficult.
Glad I'm here and hope to start asking stupid questions soon.
