• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Part of LeeD's announcement protects the congregational fora. The announcement is here. The rule reads like this:

Congregational Forums wishing to remain safe havens may choose to limit debate to members of their own denomination, insist that all posts conform to their creed etc.

The only part of our rules that does not apply is the FSB rules, however, the SoF and the no debate rules still apply. ONLY members of CC are allowed to debate and post non fellowship posts in this forum.

Especially the "conservative" ones above the reg CC mods.

I'm proud of our mods - they did the right thing and were steamrollered by the Admins. I think I'm going to download that whole thread for historical purposes.

Looks like a power-play in the wake of major change. That often happens. It is less noticed that way.

Well, maybe we should make it noticeable? :p

What about if someone who is not a member of a certain congregational forum (for example, I am not a member of the Eastern Orthodox forum but I like to occasionally post there to ask questions) who wants to inquire about information regarding the denomination of that forum? For learning purposes? Would they not allowed to do this?

I was able to email myself the whole page from reports - so if it gets "disappeared", we can still reference it.

I wonder if we can launch an appeal for Auntie?

Is the announcement not true? Are other congregational forums also loosing their identity? Can I now go debate in other congregational fora where I am not a member?
I am a Baptist so can anyone now debate in the Baptist forum? Can anyone debate in the Catholic forum? Can anyone debate in TAW?

The day that even one of the Congregational forums is not a safe haven, is the day that none of them are safe havens. If we go down, so does every other Congregational forum.

Jim, please quote from Lee where he has stated what you posted in our CC forum. I know you are doing your best and your intentions are good.

I saw this in Lee's post which I think pretty much validates what Hen said:

Who directed you to post this in OUR forum? Why is this not posted in other congregational fora.

I will ask until you answer.

Asked time TWO.
