New priest

Today he taught Justification and sanctification.
He spoke of purgatory... hell, and Heaven.
Original sin... and concupiscience.

He is also in charge of our Bible studies now.
He loves Scott Hahn, and Kreeft. {Which he has me interested in now}
Could be the answer to my prayers.

I am so excited.

He isn't afraid to talk the talk. AND teach against the questions [attacks] Catholics are facing.

He's very young too.

I went to the parish a few miles away with a late Mass today. The priest spoke of social justice, the history of valuing right action in relation to right belief, and making sure to ask your elected officials what they are doing to ensure the best life possible for the poor.

Not one word about justification, sanctification, the afterlife, or sin.

I think having to work so late I can only get to this parish may well be God's answer to my own prayers.

I live in the Pittsburgh diocese. At my family's Novus Ordo parish, we got a new pastor, he replace our old one, who died a month ago ( Requiescat in Pace ). From what I've been told, our new priest, Fr. Schreck, is very orthodox, holy, and not afraid to speak up about the Holy Catholic faith. I shall have to attend Mass with him as the Priest, sometime.

..."Peter" is not the ROCK that Jesus meant to build His church on. It is Peter's CONFESSION that Jesus is the Son of the Living God, that is the ROCK which the church was supposed to be built on...!

Why ought I to follow your own man-made Protestant religion that dates from the 1500's at the early. Historically and Scripturally the Catholic Church can be traced back to Christ and the Blessed Apostles themselves.

Sinners they are. You are a wretch'd sinner, as am I. Neither of us are immune from sinner; nor does the Catholic Church claim that we are. Besides what of all the Protestant ministers who abuse children? I had a friend who abused by a Prot pastor. Are all Protestant pastors, Child molesters?
