New person Question

Hello,

I jsut joined today. I have a query for you all. I am investigating Eastern culture. Things like yoga that have crept into our own. Maybe chrisitans may be practising these things but are there roots evil. whata re we really messing with. what has the Devil blinded us to? I'd like to write somethin on this subject but need help gathering information.

I have a personal stance (not biblical, so I'm more than willing to change it, if I see in The Word that I'm in error) about "looking into" other practices, like Yoga, New Age-ism and whatnot (I have past experience with occultism, Asatruism, Sumarian/Babylonian and a few others, from before I was saved)

If we are looking into them to prove they are false, there is no need. There may be much "human" wisdom in them, but Divine Truth is given ONLY through The Word of G-d (be it written, or spoken to our hearts via the Holy Spirit)

My personal stance is this: A man or woman who is trained to detect counterfeit currency is NOT exposed to counterfeit bills. they are exposed, for hours and days on end to REAL bills. They become totally accustomed to the feel, smell, sound of the bill folding, sight...everything about the real thing, they know. THEN, when the counterfeit comes into thier hands, they know it instantly.

They know the counterfeit, because of thier intimacy with the genuine.

I think we should take the same approach to counterfeit beliefs vs. genuine Truth. Become so intwined in Truth, so immersed in it, so familiar with it...that when the counterfeit comes into our precense, we know it instantly because of our intimate relationship with the genuine.

Wow! God does work in mysterious ways! I recieved an emai this morning from a friend and it deals with just that! Good doctrinal base here and some good references to other works.
