  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I really need to update my christian cd collection, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to Christian groups or albums I should look in to. I listen to all types of music, and I haven't bought any new Christian cds since before 2001, so any and all suggestions are welcome.

Alrighty there!

I highly suggust Seventh Day Slumber. I haven't listened to their new cd, but I have "Picking Up The Pieces" and it's a really good cd, really worth a listen!

Switchfoot's "The Beautiful Letdown" is an incredible CD, really good music, yay switchfoot!

Def. Matthew West "Happy" .. there isn't a song on there I don't like. Score!

Since 2001! Wow, you need an update lol.

All the above mentioned bands are good and Seventh Day Slumber's new cd, "Once Upon a Shattered Life" rocks hard!

Lemme see if I can break this into categories.

Less Edgy Rock:

Jars of Clay: The Eleventh Hour
Jeremy Camp: Stay, Carried Me: The Worship Project, Restored
The Afters: Wish We All Could Win
David Crowder Band: Illuminate
Kutless: Sea of Faces
Sanctus Real: Fight the Tide
Overflow: Better Place

Edge Rock + some:

Pillar: Where Do We From Here?
Dead Poetic: New Medicines
Falling Up: Crashings
Thousand Foot Krutch: Phenomenon
Skillet: Collide

Praise and Worship (All Different Styles)

Shane and Shane: Carried Away, Clean
Chris Tomlin: Arriving
Lincoln Brewster: Amazed
Newsboys: Adoration, Devotion
Jars of Clay: Who We Are Instead, Furthermore From the Studio

That's all I can think of right now, but all of those are good bands, at least in my opinion.

Seventh Day Slumber is an AMAZING band. You can tell where their heart is just in reading the thank you's in the cd jacket. I have met them in person and the are truly out there to spread the message of God and reach people who might be in those dark places. Their lyrics are VERY powerful!

Thanks everyone! I actually purchased Jeremy Camp's Restored today, and I enjoying as I type. I will definetly give the rest of the bands a listen.

Someone mentioned Tree63, I saw them at their first concert they ever played in my area, and its great that they are still together.
