Thanks, Tallguy88 for the clarification, I missed that when I first read about the poll.

I think there are so many posts about LBGT because people are trying to figure out what they believe. Once the issue becomes better understood by all, then the topic will be something else that people are trying to figure out.

I think that is largely true dayhiker. But I think as long as the marriage designations are from one Christian viewpoint tying the hands of those with a different Christian theology it will be a problem.

True - I remember years back when there were not restrictions and all Christians put in their thoughts and viewpoints on it. It can be a complicated issue for some.

It's a growing issue. Someone mentioned today on Facebook how they disliked their tax dollars going to "unbiblical marriages". To them, they figured tax money supporting judges, clerks, etc., was 'supporting' SSM. Similar logic that went into the decisions here on this forum.

This same individual has never made a fuss about divorce, tax dollars going to war and other atrocities, or the thousands of other examples of unchristian ways our government spends money. But it seems that same-sex marriage "tipped the scales". And it's bizarre, really. And if not for it being such a huge issue in media, it probably wouldn't be as big of an issue to this person. Like it or not, those so vehemently on the bandwagon of same sex marriage, one way or another, are greatly influenced by the debates prevalence in culture in media; and not because the issue is even remotely the end-all most-important issue many make it out to be.
