NEW: Major Changes to Site Format

Hi all,

I have basically removed the Portal part of the forums, because it was basically slowing down the whole site. I am making our Forums Main Category Page the main portal page.

As a result, I have ported the ShoutBox to the top of the Forum Home page, and add the top posters and latest threads info to the bottom the Forum Home page.

I have also by default collapsed all the Forum Categories on the Forum Main Page - guests will always have these collapsed. Members can choose to open and close categories that they use often. This will only work for Internet Explorer - Opera and Netscape Users will just see all the Forum Categories expanded.

Enjoy the new look Christian Forums. It is much faster and sleeker, and I hope, more enjoyable.

I thought the site was gone for awhile, because I had the forum's main page bookmarked instead of the home page.

A redirect page at the previous forum's main page may prove usefull, although, maybe I'm the only one who had it bookmarked that way.

The home page and the forum main category page have basically merged. It's a cleaner format. The forum categories can now be expanded and contracted, and the site will remember this, so that you can choose which categories to look at. This will hopefully make the site easier to navigate.

The shoutbox is now more integrated into the site, with more features.

I also added more statistics to the bottom of the homepage.

Let me know if there are any bugs.

I apologize for all the changes done recently - they had to be done to accommodate the increase in membership. Also, sorry for moving the server twice this week - again, it had to be done to increase the speed of the site.

I hope things settle down from now on!

Thanks for the top idea - I have done so. Any broken link to the site will be redirected to our homepage.

If you find that you end up at the homepage all the time, then that link doesn't work, and you are being automatically redirected to the homepage. If so, let me know.
