New Layout!

Okay, I have spent the last 8 hours streamlining the site - it's now 4 am in the morning, and it's time for me to sleep.

I have managed to speed the site up a bit by removing a lot of the graphics from the threads, and moving them into the member profiles.

In the meantime, I have optimized the site, and removed a lot of redundant coding. Things should be better now.

I hope you like the colors.

If someone can design a better looking logo for this site, feel free to do so!

I came into Christian Forums and I was like, uh SOMEONE TOOK OVER THIS SITE! I was fixing to call like some powers that be...but I thought maybe it was just a glitch. But then I took a couple of deep breaths and took a look around, you know just to make sure everything was still in order.
And i found out whoever took this site over sure knew what they were doing! The site was like moving faster, a good thing. And well everything was just different, change.
Now change is hard for me, especially when I get used to something...I mean I only joined like 2 weeks ago, and now the site as totally changed. so i have to get use to a whole new thing.
But hey, we are all going to adapt to this NEW and IMPROVED site!

And I think the site looks stellar...

The top logo is very clean and I wouldnt dare attempt to top it... photoshop? what do you use for graphics?

I love what you've done, Erwin. Very good job. The only thing I'd change is the fact that you can't "get new" posts except from the main page (or so it seems to me). Otherwise I'm very pleased.

I like the easy-on-the-eyes colours and I like that you got rid of some of the fluff. I just hope that you keep the Photo album, the avatars, and don't change too much more.

well as a vbulletin owner myself I can say you have hands down the cleanest and quickest running program I have ever seen. It is trully something to be proud of. It's about time we see a flock of christian sites that can compete with the worlds sites. The web can trully bring him the glory if we keep at it.

p.s. are you planning on posting the speed hack on vb? would love to add this.

There is no speed hack - just good old cutting down on graphics and optimizing the db.

I did read your post. I use MS Paint, believe it or not.

The truth is that the style was not designed by myself, but by a talented person. I am using it with permission, with some modifications which I use MS Paint to do, because that's all is needed.

it looks nice, crisp, clean - almost if you remember, what the KT used to look like (nudge nudge, wink wink)

It's very nice looking, but...is there anyway I can do something on my computer to make the type appear larger for me? Everytime I like a site, it seems they shrink the type down, and it's very hard for me to read. I wear bifocals, but neither lens helps with reading on the computer. I'd be VERY grateful if I could do something on my end to make it appear larger.
