Hi,
I hope this is ok to post here.
I am a newer christian, I struggled for years with drugs, and have been saved by Jesus, and clean from drugs for a year. I do believe it was only through Jesus that I was saved.

I am very grateful to have found this forum. Thank you for being here for us newer christians. I am sure I will need you all.

I just wanted to say hi, and thanks so much for being here. I do struggle yet with anxiety, and I would be very grateful for anyone that would be willing to pray for me. Thanks.

I wanted top edit this post. I have a question to ask. I have not yet been baptized. It is my understanding that in order to enter into heaven, you must be baptized, not as a child, but as an adult, you must make that decision as an adult to do this. I think I have heard this read frm the bible, but I am not sure. Thank you for your answers.

Salvation is through Jesus Christ, if you have truly given your life to Christ you are going to heaven. Baptism is a public acknowledgement of your turn to Christ when you know for sure that that turn in your life has been made. may God bless you in all. Welcome to the forum

Praise God for your salvation !

About baptism:
Being baptised will not save you.
Baptism is simply an act of obedience.
A FIRST act of obedience.

It should be done after one makes a decision to trust Jesus as Savior.
This can be done as a child or as an adult.

It is faith that saves you (Ephesians 2:8-9). Baptism should be BECAUSE you have that faith.

If you believe in Christ as your lord and savior you have punched your ticket into heaven. Remember when Jesus was hanging on the cross and he told the man beside him that he would be in heaven with him after the man said he believed in Jesus, that man never experienced baptism.

Everyone else is right, Baptism is a public profession of your faith, it's not what gets you to heaven.

Thanks, I never though of this. I only accepted what others told me. I have been reading the bible. My wonderful husband just bought me the KJV bible on DVD for my 1 year anniversary being clean from the pain killers. I have just begun that. I am so excited abou this.

There is a board in the edification section named "Prayer Requests" meant for just that purpose. But you can post a prayer request about anywhere and I'm sure people will respond.

My prayer for you is that you grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord here at CF.

Clean from drugs for a whole year? Excellent. I'm somewhat of a recreational user, but have never found the means or necessity to quit entirely, it's pretty tough, so good for you.

I've never been baptized nor do I think it's necessary. It's really up to you, but it has nothing to do with being saved, so I'd say you're safe and your entrance to heaven is sure.

Unfortunately, there are baptisms performed all the time....where the authority in the church does claim that the person is now in the Kingdom of God, because of the baptism.

Even more unfortunate, it that they are saying this to families that are baptizing babies.

I have seen it hundreds of times.

Simply not biblical.
