Same. Feeling pretty cozy deconstructing Calvinism as we speak. I feel more drawn to Arminianism by the day. I see Calvinism as a theology of narcissists.Doing good! Enjoying my day!![]()

Could you private message me? I know Calvinists get extremely polemic over matters such as this and I don't want to deal with that pompous negativity right now.Well you can discuss that in the theological forums. This is o my for intros. I hope to see you around!![]()
Well you could go to General Theology and look through the sections there. You can PM me but I’m not sure it will do much good. I’m Catholic.Could you private message me? I know Calvinists get extremely polemic over matters such as this and I don't want to deal with that pompous negativity right now.

Er, this discussion isn’t really allowed on the forums due to this rule:Could you private message me? I know Calvinists get extremely polemic over matters such as this and I don't want to deal with that pompous negativity right now.

I’m not a Calvinist, but I’m a mod.
Er, this discussion isn’t really allowed on the forums due to this rule:
Flaming and Goading
That would include Calvinists, unfortunately.
- Please treat all members with respect and courtesy through civil dialogue.
Saying “Calvinists are narcissists” would be flaming Calvinists as a group, which is not allowed. Also, claiming that Calvinists engage in “pompous negativity” that you don’t want to deal with is also flaming them as a group.
- Do not personally attack (insult, belittle, mock, ridicule) other members or groups of members on CF, or use nicknames to do so. A list of unacceptable names can be found here.. Address only the content of the post and not the poster.
While saying “there is a link between Calvinism and narcissism” is allowed, you still need to be careful with discussion, as we do have some Calvinists here (yikes!) who will be around to debate against your link, which could run you afoul of this rule:
And when you do that, that will get your thread closed. Calvinists don’t really like being called narcissists, and if they decide to engage in “pompous negativity” in response to being insulted, you provoked (goaded) them into breaking the rules. The whole thing is a self-fulfilling prophecy.
- NO Goading. This includes images, cartoons, smileys or post ratings which are clearly meant to goad. Quoting and then editing another members post to change the original meaning, commonly referred to as "fixed it for you" (FIFY), is considered goading.
And also, before you get on the whole “mods are evil and are siding with narcs” high horse, if someone else came along and said the Armenians are narcissists who engage in pompous negativity, I’d delete their post too. “But Armenians aren’t narcissists.” Well duh. That’s what the Calvinists think too. There’s a lot better ways to debate that perpetual theological collision than accusing the other side of having a mental disorder. Eh? Just a friendly reminder and word of caution.
