Hey everyone! I just wanted to start off by saying hello and introducing myself. My name is Ethan, I am 26 years old and have officially been a Christ follower since May 15, 2016 (date I was saved) I was baptized November 20, 2016. I have always believed in God and quite honestly thought I was saved years before May of last year. I attended the same church for 5 years and thought I was saved. I knew my scripture, I prayed, I thought I had a relationship with God… That was until May 15, 2016 when one of my best friends and his wife invited me to attend their church. The pastor was talking about anger, bitterness and unforgiveness. It was if he was speaking directly to me. I broke down in service that day (something I had never done before) I felt as if all my worries, fears and the weight on my shoulders were lifted off of me. I didn’t feel condemned, I felt warmth, peace and love. I was saved! And for real this time, I wasn’t just saying a prayer because a pastor told me about hell when I was a child thus scaring me into saying I was saved. It was different this time, I felt God reach down, touch my heart and begin to transform me. I will never forget that day! It was the day I realized that a person can go to church their entire life, know scripture, recite scripture, know their hymnals but never actually know God. From that moment on, my life changed and I saw the world differently. I had a new love for every person currently in my life and every person I would cross paths with from that point on. This is now my church home! The pastor took me under his wing, he was with me every step of the way and continues to challenge me every single day. Before my current job, I was a graphic designer and I now do all the design work for the church (bulletins, sermon art, flyers and website) I also run the soundboard every sunday morning for worship and when the Pastor delivers the message. So once again, I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello!

:wave:Hiya Ethan, welcome to CF.
Thanks for sharing your story. It is so nice to hear you do all of that for your church. And awesome! I too do graphic design and from time to time try to help my little church with stuff like that.

Anyway, hope you feel right at home here.

Hi Ethan,
Glad you have taken this all important step to follow Christ. The bible tells us in Colossians 2:6-7

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Now that you are a follower of Christ you need to settle down and grow roots in him. You need to come to know him deeply for salvation is only the starting point of knowing Christ. The Lord will want to reveal himself to you and walk with you on a day to day basis. To do so he needs you to be attentive to him. Give yourself over to the study of the bible. You may have been doing so already but now that you are saved it should take on a new significance. Spend time trying to understand the scripture you read and meditate upon it wherever you are. The Lord speaks to us through our thoughts so when you meditate upon scriptures you are giving him opportunities to speak to you.
Love God, love your brothers and sisters in Christ and do good with the gifts God has given you as you seem to be doing already and you will grow.
Once again welcome to the body of Christ.
