Why would anybody drink this beer for the taste only?

meh, Guinness is fine. There’s nothing really else out there that tastes like it, including other stouts.

Why would anyone drink Coke for taste only?

If you like the taste of something, that's reason enough to drink it (given that it is not harmful).

OTOH, though I've had only a couple zero alcohol beers, they've all been nasty.
I have had one and hated it with a super nova level of burning rage but I suspect that was mostly due to having grabbed it by mistake after an incredibly long hot day and not the taste.

Sounds like one to avoid. Non alcoholic beers tend to lack body, and withouth body a Stout is nothing.

For those of us who prefer porters and stouts, the negative comments on this thread sound exactly like what we might say about "American Style Pilsners".

Seriously, how can anyone compare Guinness to Bud Light.

Since you asked.....
Myth: Guinness is high in calories
Guinness, a stout-style brew, is known for its creamy texture, dark color, and rich, caramel-tinged flavor. That means it must be high in calories, right? Not so fast. A 12-ounce serving of Guinness sets you back 125 calories—just 15 more than the same serving of Bud Light.
