• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

As of today, April 28, 2008, members of the Traditional Adventist Forums and members of the Progressive/Moderate/Former Adventist Forums may not post cross-forum commentary that is negative about the other forum.

Any post that is negative toward the other forum will be immediately deleted. All deleted posts will be actioned as a violation of CF rules, including but not limited to:
Quote:
Use the brain God gave you. Think before you post. Think about how your post may affect someone else.

Quote:
Congregational Forums wishing to remain safe havens may choose to limit debate to members of their own denomination, insist that all posts conform to their creed etc.

Quote:
Flaming, baiting, trolling, or feeding trolls is not allowed. This also applies to groups. In other words, play nice, don't hurt others, nor call them names.

Quote:
If you think you are being flamed, choose *not* to be offended, but instead take a break, and communicate, rather than escalating or accusing others.

Moderators of both the Traditional and Progressive Forums will be working together to see that both forums become a place of safety and healing for their members. The focus of each perspective forum would benefit by finding issues to discuss that offer hope, growth and a picture of Christ who we are striving to honor and serve.

Our recommendation would be that all CF members please think how your posts may affect others, and remember that our forums are publically visable to all CF members.
