hi all - i'm new to the forums. i'm 26 from Toronto and am actively seeking a church to go to that has a young-adult focus. any suggestions?

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi there, I have been seeking churches through trial and error for a while although I am not too new to Toronto anymore, after relocating from the West a few years ago. It's actually a little more difficult for me 'cause I'm a lot older than you... very hard to find ones that have a middle-aged adult focus for myself. But anyhow, the churches that I think have a good young adult focus are: Knox Presbyterian Church, Bayview Glen, Fellowship Baptist Church Markham Hope you will find the right fellowship group and grow in Him. Is Mississauga anywhere near to you? I know about a gathering of saints there that are very sound in the faith. They are not a common denominated sect, and I do not know if they are what you would call a "young-adult focus", but they seek to honor the Lord, hold only to the Word of God, and show love to all the saints, I am informed.

I'm from Toronto and have to say it's rather hard to find a church with a good group for people our age range (I'm 23). There is one is Scarborough called Joy City Church, and there's also a Bretheren Church on Eglinton but soo many are filled with old people and very young children with little in the way of young adults.

Visit Rexdale Alliance and you won't look for another church. If someone in the hall doesn't greet you and speak to you then it will be a very rare incident indeed. Some of the most Bibilcal and well balanced preaching I have ever seen from any pulpit in Toronto. They are very active in the community and they also have a lot of Youth programs there. Sunday service is at 11 Saturdays at 6:30.
