• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How do you make new friends when you have bi-polar disorder? I've tried to in the past, but I usually end up not caring anymore and neglect them. Other times, I'll be overbearing and they'll get sick of me. There's no in between. The friends I did have eventually trickled down to "blue moon friends" (meaning they only think it's good to stay in touch once in a great while). So, when I meet somebody new I find it better to spare them the year or two of pain being my friend and just let them move on. It saves me embarrassment in the end, and calms the feelings of rejection inside me.

My bipolar disorder has kept me from having friends
for my whole life. Even now I have no best nor close
friends, just guys I know from my Biker Church that
I only see and talk to at the church. I am way to
moody for close friends but I have grown used to it.
If you let people/friends move in on you, then they
take over and use you bipolar against you is my
experience. No one at my Biker Church knows that
I am bipolar..........it's best that way.
