Good Day, UB
My goodness I should have put on the fire gear. It was not my intent to call any one out. Wheather we agree or dis agree consistant is always a good thing.
Good day it is, the sun is shining and the good Lord has blessed us with one more day!!!
Got your asbestos britches on? Because I plan on being consistantly against people who put up dastardly signs along with the people who shout halleluiah to them when driving by. Is the Baptist faith consistant? Some are Calvinists, some are free, some are Arminian, some are independant fundies, some are liberal gays, some have women pastors and some don't, and some are even just plain arrogant jerks.
So yeah let's be consistant here, shall we?
Lived a good life maybe define "good"?
hahaha man I forget some people just think there is nothing good any of us can do. I must write myself a note to start to care what Calvinistic people think, as it is not sinking in with me yet.
A definition of good:
Possessing desirable qualities; adapted to answer the end designed; promoting success, welfare, or happiness; serviceable; useful; fit; excellent; admirable; commendable; not bad, corrupt, evil, noxious, offensive, or troublesome, etc.
John Paul did possess desirable qualities, promoted success, happiness, and welfare, was useful, servicable, commendable, and was not corrupt, evil, noxious, etc...
He was a good and decent man.
Let me guess now you will tell me that this aint God's definition. So be it, i could care less what you think of that. There are alot of good people who do good things for others on this earth, and while you will say it means nothing in the end, this guy we are talking about did these things in the name of God, for God, and by the power of God. I know you don't agree, but until you have done half as much or even a tenth as much as that man did in the name of God, I think you had better get off the soap box.
The point I was making is that there are people who call themselves, including you and I, Baptists that have done far less for the Lord than he did, and to whistle them on to hell because they are not reformed, is a pretty pathetic and arrogant thing to do.
What does that have to do with any thing?
Alot actually.
I was not seeking to debate with any one on this issue, did you listen to the link?
As much of it as I could stand. Wasn't a bad sermon, I have heard worse, but it seems ultimatley pathetic to preach out about other Christian denominations from the pulpit when your own Christian denomination has gaping holes in it.
I have nothing againt any one who is a Roman Catholic as a person, though I do think the "denomination" has taught grave errors and contary to the Scriptures, and should be pointed out when possible.
I agree with you that there are errors, and I agree that they should be pointed out, but I do not agree with your conclusion of what these errors are.
