New Feature: Embedded CF Sound File and Movie File in MyCF Homepage!

I put a video in my html section (and it works), but I can't get one to play in the movie file section. Is a video the same as a movie file?

(and yes, I realize this is a very stupid question.)

I think the persons homepage should come with a warning. I clicked on someones who had a movie file, and it cramped up my computer. I couldn't even click out of it. I had to shut my whole system down and reboot. What a pain!

Not everyone can afford to upgrade. I know I sure can't. These new things...yeah, they're great and all...but for those of us who can't keep ahead of the new technology...

Would this be possible as a quick interim solution, Erwin? I know that in my case it's just that I'm too cheap to upgrade to a faster connection, but still, this is a problem for many of us.

I'm trying to avoid My CF Homepages as much as possible, but sometimes it's just not feasible.

Lel, I do have high speed internet and a computer with a dual hard drive that is less than 6 months old and these songs and videos freeze it up for me too. I would also like to be able to turn it off from automatically playing.

My new rule:

If I open a profile and sounds start playing, that profile gets rated a "1" by me. No exceptions.

And I have to open a lot of profiles.

To answer the question: There are only some types of files that work in the movie section. Not all of them do.

Okay, I went grave digging to try and find this answer.

How do I get a sound file to play on my home page from you tube? I tried the solution mentioned in this thread, but it didn't work for me. What to do? Please help. Thanks.

Meek One, you know that they are planning on upgrading to a new board soon, right? (Not sure how soon, but they said "soon".) Maybe you should wait till after the upgrade and see if things will be easier then.

I couldn't figure it out, either, even after reading all the directions. I had to scrap that idea.

You know I thought about that just before you said it. It could be the upgrades are not letting me be able to add one to my homepage or something.

I just want to be able to pull up my homepage and hear the song I like a lot and share it with others too.

If you have the song on a CD, you can upload the song to a site that takes audio uploads and then put a link in the html section. That is what I did with mine.

Thanks, but its not on CD, its on youtube. I have the URL but its not taking for some reason.
