snoochface said:I don't want to read 30 pages of posts... but has it been mentioned here yet that 1) threads load realllllly slowly now because of the characters, and 2) "special" items are piling up on top of each other behind the character? (For example, I have two ribbons, but they are right on top of each other so only one is visible.)
I see both of these issues as a problem, but because of the slowness of page loads, I'm probably going to end up turning off armor altogether - which I think is a real shame, because I like to see how people dressed themselves up.

Erwin: have you considered using GD to generate the characters instead of using divs to pile the gifs on top of each other? Using GD would just require one image to load per character -plus- when you add new character items you could make them transparent PNG files to make smoother transparencies and also have the ability to have partial transparencies which would be really cool.
Being a professional web developer and having used GD before I can tell you how great it is and how much flexibility it has. Since your server has PHP abilities it should also have the ability to use the GD image library.
Just an idea...
snoochface said:Thanks, I think that fixed it. At least I can see my yellow ribbon, and the alzheimer's one is probably stuck in my hair somewhere.
Another question: how are some people getting backgrounds for their characters?
GD would kill the server.PeculiarEagle said:I have noticed this too and can think of a possible way to solve it.

They are pointy cat ears, not horns, and that is sign language for "I love you", not a goat's head.A4C said:people with horns and giving the "goatshead" satanic salute is hardly Christian

To do a "goat's head" ones thumb must be touching both middle fingers.Erwin said:They are pointy cat ears, not horns, and that is sign language for "I love you", not a goat's head.
