Hi,
Can some people who have recently become christian tell me how it came about,What trials are you facing and how you cope/deal with them?
In fact anyone can answer
Greetings
Welcome to the family, I think Jesus gives us the answer to your question in his teaching from the parable of the sower.
In Mark 4:14-20 Jesus tell the meaning of his parable
14. The sower soweth the word.
15. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
The first trial you will face is doubt, the devil will try to steal the word out of you, he tries to make you doubt the bible first and then your own salvation, if he can hit you in these he can stop a New Christian from ever growing mature.
16. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; 17. And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
From the time you accepted Christ your became a Baby so to speak again, for a while you feed off other teaching, but inorder to mature you must learn to fix your own meals.
The next thing the devil will try on you is to get you not to change, to try and get you to chase your old dreams you had before you were saved, do your own thing, don't take this new life stuff to serious, this is a trick, the cares of this world will kill you spiritually. Jesus say's it in the next verses.
18. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19. And the
cares of this world, and
the deceitfulness of riches, and
the lusts of other things entering in,
choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
When we chase after the cares of this world we will become trapped by it's pleasure. Some may not agree with this statment but just look at it from the way Jesus has instructed us to come after him.
Matthew 10:38-39
38. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
39. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.
This is what Jesus is talking about in the parable and it is revealed in this statement. If you chase after this world and it's pleasures you will lose your soul for this life of pleasure but if you seek first the kingdom of God and his Rightiousness then all these things will be added to your life.
I'll break it down like this. Lets say a new christian came to Christ, get's saved. That New Christian decides to surrender to the ministry or to a position, by seeking God first your life becomes fulfilled life with the fruit of the Spirit as Jesus promised us, take my yoke apond you, for my burden is easy and my yoke is light.
Chase the world and the things in it and you become Slave to your own desires. Want a home to lay in, get in debt 20-30yrs you become a slave to the bank and are forced to labor to keep the pleasure of your self induced bondage.
Becoming a missionary God gives the home or hut and provides there needs, they can enjoy a 1000 times more freedom in a life for Christ then they could every living life for self pleasure.
Back to the sower parable.
20. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
The wisest choice to make first is to seek the kingdom things first in your life, surrendering your self to be molded by God. God will mold us into the image of Christ one way or the other, the hard way or the easy way.
The harder we become to him the worse it hurts us when he decides to shape something in us, we can be Clay or Stone. Clay is easy to shape, this is the easy road to travel and it will save you years of heart ache.
Good luck on your journey home
peace to all in Christ Jesus name
