New Banner Layout

We are working, working, working to get CF2 back up and running to full capacity. Many many hours have been put in to making additions and correcting bugs around here. I wanted to give a special thanks to our coder, server guru, and all of the CF staff that have worked to make this happen!

I also wanted to make a specific announcement about the new ad layout. We now have like on the old design a leaderboard (horizonal) banner up top and at the very bottom of every page, we added a right hand sidebar ad (which you can be opted out of for free), and finally we added a block of 2 ads which appear on the threaded discussion pages underneath the first post.

We have spent much on CF over the past several months and will continue to aim high with our standards to achieve two things:

1. a friendly and feature rich Christian community
2. a speedy experience

I also established a new usergroup on CF called "active contributors". This usergroup comes as an automatic promotion once you hit the 1,000 posts mark as a member here. An instant benefit for hitting the promotion is that the right hand sidebar ad disappears (along with the whole sidebar). This is one simple way to give back to active contributors / members.

You can also become a site supporter and instantly browse CF without any ads. We hope you like the progress made and you can look forward to many more updates and fixes to come!

Everyone knows the lengths people (the staff, techs, what have you) are going through to make the site possible in it's second phase. There is unending potential for this site in it's current state, I do believe it. Looking forward to it all coming together in the end, and it's really starting to shape up.

Agree with all of these points. The tech team are amazing and CF has the potential to be amazing. Like most of the forum has already said however, at the moment it feels like we've taken quite a few steps backwards. I hope the site can be moved forward once again.

Not really... the new display is 1000 pixels wide, that may break some view if you have a smaller monitor...

I should qualify as an "ultra-active contributor" since I've got so many posts in just 4 months of membership. Maybe you guys can make me a moderator cos I'm always on CF. Hehe.

The only female relatives I have are my mother and my aunt and I don't think they play lacrosse.

So, lacrosse is mainly a girl's game?

Actually, my statements are not transparent. They only appear so. Nobody in CF knows which country I'm in at the moment. I change my profile time every now and then. Right now, I'm on a student exchange and am in a different country.

It pays to be careful. Last year, a couple of my friends and I took a train from Paddington to Hereford with our bicycles. We were meeting two boys there who said on a chat site that they would show us a secret bike trail. At Hereford station, we were met by a man who told us to put our bikes in his van. I felt something was not right. The boys were to meet us at the station with their bikes. Nothing was said about a man and a van. But the man knew a lot about our chat at the site. I told my friends not to go with him and they agreed.

In the end, the three of us went cycling on our own and we covered a good 100 km of a lovely bike trail. So, it pays to be careful about one's identity on the net.
