Because let's face it, the bands on radio stations right now are overplayed and overrated. ;)

This is a place to post songs by bands new and upcoming, possibly indie, that aren't nearly as popular as they should be. Essentially, it's a hipster thread. I'll start things off with a few of my favorite bands that aren't particularly popular.

I saw your other posts in your thread. Can you recommend some doom metal bands similar to Amorphis and early-In Flames? It seems thats what you like :)

Doom?

Amorphis were always originally Death Metal (now they're kinda Prog/Death/Power hybrid). In Flames were Death, now Metalcore.

Do you actually mean doom or stuff like Amorphis and early In-Flames?

To be fair, the Metal Archives lists Amorphis as "Progressive/Death/Doom Metal (early), Modern Rock/Melodic Metal (later)", and Wikipedia has them as "Melodic death metal,[1] death/doom,[1] folk metal,[2][3] gothic metal,[1] progressive metal[1]". I can't really say since I've never heard the band's material, although I am somewhat familiar with the death/doom classification, as it's gothic metal's parent genre.

My guess is Matthew247 got it from 'death/doom' appearing there...which is a distinct fusion genre, not an either/or thing.

But anyway...
