What exactly are these blessing things. There is this little counter that says blessings, has a number and then has links saying check and purchase. Could someone explain this

Hello and welcome to the forums Joachim.
Your number of blessings increases with every post you make, as far as I've seen until now (I'm also quite new here ) it varies from 5 to 11 blessings per post, I think it depends on the length of post, but I'm not sure of that.
Also you can receive blessings if you take a job --> Jobs, you can take a job after you reached 100 posts, and the pay for the job is a specific number of blessings.
Also you may receive blessings from other users, they may send you some, if they like one of your posts.
The blessings are used for creating an avatar and buying clothes and various things for it, they are also used for buying Pets (like the 2 I have) and food for them.
Furthermore there is a section called Blessings Exchange where you receive blessings for participating at various games.

I forgot something. If you go to the link 'check' you can see a list of the blessings you've received until now from other users. Going to the 'purchase' link will allow you to buy blessings. To be honest I never checked these 2 links before. So I can't tell you more about that. But I'm sure others who know more about that will soon tell you.

You can also take a job after 100 posts to earn blessings, and putting them in savings earns interest on blessings too.
