I NEVER watch American Idol,but I saw this on MSNBC this morning and searched for the story. WOW! I was blown away by her amazing voice, Almost cried my eyes out the way she changed all those laughing people's opinion,and it was better for me than seeing Simon Cowell get a pie in the face,LOL! You can bet that I have saved this clip in my music favorites folder!

Prayers that her dreams come true and her life is blessed as her voice will surely bless listeners!

I just watched the video on YouTube and she's so amazing.

I hate they've made that her title, "Never-kissed woman" but I agree that she showed those judges a thing or two about first impressions.
She really is terrific.

They had another one of those a couple years ago. It was a fella who walked on stage lookin' mighty mighty dorky but just blew EVERYONE away.

It was a beautiful moment. Simon's reaction was great. But I preferred the immediately following shot of the woman. You can ACTUALLY see the moment the singer catches her breath...TWICE! Unfortunately her comments at the end seem a bit....cliche.

I so agree with you about the female judge(don't know her name) and though her comments after were cliche, I did notice her voice catch when she admits what a wake-up call they got.

Thank you for the Paul Potts clip,and yes he also has a beautiful voice,what surprised me even more was to see that Piers Morgan was also on the panel judging him,so both he and Simon Cowell should know better than to judge someone by their appearance!

I am happy for her victory and admire her courage, but it pains me deeply that the video is being passed around simply because so many people are surprised that a less than fashionably beautiful woman can sing beautifully. Although some see it as encouragement that they themselves still have a chance for recognition, the popularity of this video says a lot more about most of the viewers than it does about her.

Unfortunately the Christian music industry has bought into the same brutal criticism about what is marketable and, with few exceptions, promotes only the young and beautiful as worshippers.

We have a lot to answer for.

I do not see the popularity of the video as a bad thing. If we were as shallow as you think, no one would care about the voice.

The surprise to me was that this voice has been hidden all this time. I am pleased that there are shows on TV now that allow people without connections or money to have their voices heard. Its all good.
